General Homework Information

Homework

Homework will consist of daily reading and sight word practice along with a monthly project/presentation. Information will be posted on our class website each Friday. Please check our website every week for weekly news. In addition, optional homework will be provided for those that would like more practice at home.

 

  • Daily Reading: Your child is expected to read for 20 minutes every day.
  • Sight Words: Each month, your child will be assigned a list of sight words. Please study only these words as your child will be tested at the end of the month on that specific list. Your child must be able to say each sight word fluently to pass the sight word list.
  • Oral Language: Presentations will be assigned periodically throughout the school year.                                          
  • Benchmark Advance: Activities will be assigned monthly on the Benchmark website, accessible via our school website.
  • i-Ready: Assignments will be accessible via our school website.
  • Math pages: These pages will be sent home with the math assignment completed that day. These are optional and do not need to be turned in.
  • Writing: A writing topic will be provided on the homework website. Writing should be completed on first grade lined writing paper
  • Fluency:  A fluency passage will need to be printed from the website and read daily.
